Wine Cork Corkboard

I haven't written on this blog in quite some time.  I've been so busy. Working my day job, My Etsy shop has picked up some, and keeps me constantly busy with it, And as if that wasn't enough, I had to go back to school, I wanted to go back to school!  I love it thought.  I'm going back for Business Entrepreneurship and it's a great program of study, and I'm really enjoying being back in college.

So onto what I did, that i felt worthy of a blog post!

So I had a huge basket of wine corks, Because I love them.  I keep every one that I use/find.  We drink a good bit of wine in my household so that helps with my collection, Friends gatherings, and other things also add to it.  A while back I purchased some on Ebay, because i deemed it necessary to have an excess of wine corks.  So they have been sitting on a shelf in my craft room, WAITING for me to come up with something for them.  And here it is!

I cut out a large heart in some poster board I had.  And I began cutting each wine cork in half, some I cut in multiple pieces and glued them together to achieve different heights.  I stamped some of them, and added some embellishments here and there.  I love how it turned out.

In the close ups you can see I decorated some plain push pins with buttons, and flowers, and a few other items not pictured.  And thats my business card there.  My boyfriend hates it because it was one of those free templates, I was desperate for some cards to carry to school and to include in packages i ship and It was cheaper to go with the free design that his design.  Hes a web/graphic designer, and as men go, thinks his are always best!  but I love him anyways.

Well thanks for taking a look, and Maybe when I get my priorities straight and my time management under control, I will definitely Update this more!

I should blog more.

I love reading and look at my friend Andrea's Blog.  And other blogs that I follow.  It always inspires me to make a post.  I stay pretty busy with my full time job as a cake decorator, and my now 3 etsy shops. PoxieJewelry, NerdyApples, and PoxieSupply.  I enjoy doing it and coming up with new ideas.

Last night I went to our Local Goodwill--and as i was browsing the books I came across "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

I loved this book as a kid.  It was probably one of my favorites.  Once i got home I started flipping through the pages and I got so inspired!  I spent hours making jewelry.  I have a few photo's of what I made, but these photo's are not great!  I have not had a chance to get great pictures of them yet. But I'll share anyways.

I'm thinking of participating in a Craft a Day Challenge soon.  I'm not sure how well I do.  I generally make something EVERY day.  But posting about it everyday?  I'm so terrible about updating.  I love blogging, but finding the time to do it, In amongst everything else sometimes proves to be difficult.

Thanks for checking this out.  Let me know what you think of my Secret Garden Collection.  As soon as I have some free time I'll be listing them on my Etsy sites.  I'm very excited and I love these pieces.  Hopefully you do too!
